The Railway Village Museum conserves, displays, and interprets artifacts, authentic period structures, and technologies used in Maine from the Mid-19th through the Mid-20th Centuries. For the past 56 years, it has hosted a Fall Foliage Festival featuring artists and makers, live music, local foods, drinks, and treats. While enjoying the festival this afternoon, I visited the antique car museum, model railroad, and village goats while Jeanine rested her aching hip and listened to Scottish folk music.

The Model Railroad Exhibit is under constant construction, portraying railroading in Maine during the 1950s-1960s. The current HO scale layout has been evolving for 20 years and features a level of detail that must be seen to be believed.
