I was up at 5 am this morning to begin my pre-soccer-match ritual for an 8:30 am away game kick-off in Medfield, a good 45-minute drive from here. I was treated to a sublime sunrise for my effort. The match was our most challenging so far this season, but we still managed a 2-0 win. I had 3 shots on goal, all on frame, but none were good enough to beat the keeper. After our aprés at the Noon Hill Grill, I passed by and then stopped to photograph the Peak House, a town of Medfield historical gem, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
When I returned home, I collapsed for a 2-hour nap, took a long, hot shower, and spent the rest of the day in my bathrobe doing little else except wondering why a near-68-year-old man still thinks playing soccer is a good idea.
