Forklift vs. Cardboard Box

It is generally best when a box containing a large mounted photograph arrives without any apparent damage. Such was not the case this morning when my 40″ x 20″ print of the Milky Way arrived. Pictured below is one corner of the photo with a large crease running through it. The good news: the company that made the print immediately offered to replace it on an expedited basis. The bad news: independent of the sustained damage, I really do not like the print as it appears way too dark. When viewed on a computer monitor that emits light, it is quite spectacular. As a print that reflects light, however, it is nowhere near as dramatic. If I do choose to hang the replacement print on a wall, it will need a source of external illumination to make it worth viewing. Live and learn.
